Eduardo Mendonça's performance brings the flavor of Brasil to Europe, singing Bossa-Nova, Brazilian standard tunes, MPB (Brazilian Popular Music) and original tunes.
Eduardo Mendonça is a native of Salvador, Bahia, Brazil and graduated in Arts Education at the Instituto de Música da Universidade Católica do Salvador. In 1991 he was featured in Paul Simon's documentary music video, Born at the Right Time. In 1999 in Seattle, Eduardo Mendonça performed for former South Africa President Nelson Mandela, and in 2008 performed twice for Dalai Lama in Seattle. He is winner of Outstanding Brazilian Male Singer Based in USA for the 10th Annual Brazilian International Press Award 2007, and currently he is one of the four Seattle musicians representing Washington State in a federal music pilot program under Serve America Act signed by President Obama on April 2009. On July 4th, 2009, Eduardo Mendonça received the "Spirit of Liberty Award", an Award for an immigrant who has made outstanding contribution to his adopted country, the U.S.A. while maintaining his ethnic heritage.
